The first House drawn trams in Europe...were completed and gained for Birkenhead in 1861.
The first tram track in Britain to be laid down in the middle of the road was from Edge Lane to Broadgreen Station...The brainchild of John A Brodie. 1914.
Brodie Avenue- connection anyone?

Brodie Avenue was named after John Alexander Brodie. He was Liverpool's City Engineer from 1898-1925. He also patented football nets and prefabricated houses.
