MAVERICK architect Will Alsop believes the famous Mersey waterfront would benefit from a Fifth Grace.
And the man whose Cloud design provoked a storm when chosen as the preferred contender for a Fourth Grace would be happy to work on the project himself.
He also reveals how he did not even want to enter the Fourth Grace design competition originally and had to be persuaded by a colleague.
And he admits that the Cloud design, which has split opinion on Merseyside, was originally conceived in his garden shed in deepest Norfolk.
So while many believe that even the arrival of one new iconic building to sit alongside the traditional Three Graces of the Liver, Port of Liverpool and Cunard buildings is still unlikely, Will Alsop is already thinking further ahead.
He said: "I actually think we need a Fifth Grace, at the north west end of the site, between the Liver Building and the hotel (Crowne Plaza)," says Alsop.
