Indeed Kev. The Garston Hotel is a very sorry sight. It would look rather splendid lit up but they might like to put a roof on it first!

Not sure about the Red Lion but that has been flattened. Wonder what they will put there on that piece of wasteland?!

Apparently 'they' are putting flats on the site of The Lod Red Lion, not sure wether they are for private sale, housing association or whatever.
I think by the looks of it, someone tried to put a lght to it already!
Seriously though, The Garston Hotel building is a gem that we cant loose in Garston..THE OWNERS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED. we shouldnt have lost the red lion. What is it with the village? From the garston hotel towards the Netto and beyond, theres investment and redevelopments....likewise from the Matchworks and beyond, theres investment there...but anythin inside that (the village) there seems to be nothin...just empty buildings....like...
1- The Garston Baths building, we shouldnt have lost that. 2- The shops opposite St Michaels church. 3- Those shops opposite the sommerfield that used to be occupied by 'Joysave' and other shops. Do you remeber joysave? garston Angling etc... 4- The Garston Hotel 5- That piece of land by St John Almonds School that is a skeleton on metal. (used to be a discount shop)
I love Garston, I just think its dragging on too long. Very disappointing at the moment. I'm sure things will happen soon...
