A DEAL for a new £24m riverside hotel next to the Crowne Plaza was sealed today.
Mersey Docks chiefs have clinched the agreement for the city's first boutique Malmaison Hotel on the Princes Dock.
The world-famous luxury hotel chain expect to open the 4-star development in summer 2006.
Malmaison looked at the Princes Dock site two years ago, but stepped up its interest after the city won Capital of Culture status for 2008.
Since then property values in Liverpool have risen dramatically and Malmaison has amended its plans to include 41 luxury apartments in its plans for a 131-room 11 - storey development.
The rooftop luxury apartments will add another five storeys to the scheme
