THE Museum of Liverpool Life, which aims to be a major attraction in Capital of Culture year, has snapped up a rare framed and signed photograph of Meccano founder Frank Hornby at auction. The item, which was bought for £4,100, was among dozens of photographs, old adverts, instruction manuals and toys dating from the early 1900s. They were rescued from the Meccano factory in Binns Road, Liverpool, when it closed in the 1970s and went under the hammer yesterday.
