TEACHERS from Norway will visit Liverpool this week to learn about the city's programme of events as European Capital of Culture 2008.
Nine representatives from Stavanger, the non-EU Capital of Culture, will spend four days in Liverpool meeting council leader Cllr Mike Storey, and chairman of the Liverpool Culture Company Sir Bob Scott.
The teachers from Gosen school in Stavanger will visit National Museums Liverpool, LIPA, the Walker Art Gallery, the Everyman Playhouse and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall.
The group will also spend a morning at Gilmour Junior School in Garston where they will watch pupils using the Friend Ship, Liverpool's interactive learning vessel, which is visiting each primary and special school in the city.
Hilde Solberg, headteacher of Gosen school, said: "We have heard so much about the city's programme of events that supported the successful bid to become European Capital of Culture, and how schools integrate culture into subjects across the curriculum."
