City to attract buyers
LIVERPOOL will be 'sold' to some of the world's biggest property investors.
Global property firm Knight Frank, which opened a Liverpool office earlier this year, is so confident of the area's potential that it is marketing the whole city at next week's ExCel Property Investor Show in London.
Agents normally market just one scheme, not an entire city.
Chris Neill, head of Knight Frank Residential in Liverpool, said: "Rather than simply showcase a selection of properties from our portfolio we want to market the city itself and show investors just how strong the offer is and what a great investment proposition Liverpool represents.
"It's a radical step, but we believe the city has more to offer investors than any other location in the UK at this time."
When Knight Frank moved into Liverpool in June the company's research experts predicted the regeneration of the city centre would place it on a par with great European cities, such as Barcelona.
Mr Neill said: "We believe we can help in the ongoing campaign to reinvigorate Liverpool by attracting more big investors into the city.
"They are looking for high class schemes and cannot fail to be impressed by what Liverpool has to offer. We will demonstrate to people just what the 'new' 21st century Liverpool is all about."
The company has 200 offices worldwide and said Liverpool could benefit from major Russian investors after opening a new office in St Petersburg.
Mr Neill said: "We act as ambassadors for the cities in which we operate."
Knight Frank has recently been appointed as agent for flag-ship schemes in Liverpool valued at £91m including include the Princes Dock City Loft scheme, Tower Buildings and Rumford Estates' penthouse apartments at Unity in Chapel Street.
The Property Investor Show takes place at the ExCel Centre in London's Dockland between September 17-19.
