THE owner of Liverpool John Lennon Airport has completed a £90m deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland's corporate banking arm.
Peel Holdings says the debenture stock issue will be used to pay off a number of short-term development loans.
Ongoing income from developments such as the new B&Q store close to the Trafford Centre and developments in Edinburgh are being used to back the £90m stock.
Peel Holdings, which has gross assets valued at over £2bn, took advantage of RBS's position in the capital markets arena to access additional funding via the issue of debenture stock.
The company has four divisions: The Trafford Centre, Peel Land and Property, Peel Ports and Peel Airports.
Peter Scott, Peel Holdings managing director, said: "This is the second time we've used RBS for this specific type of funding. The bank has previously co-arranged our £610m Trafford Centre securitisation.
"We value their experience and market knowledge and we are pleased that they have again delivered a solution that will satisfy our long-term funding requirements in respect of our property investment portfolio."

FROM THE ECHO....
EMERALD Airways is to reintroduce its passenger service to the Isle Of Man from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, creating up to 30 jobs.
Starting on Monday, the carrier will operate five services a day using its recently-acquired fleet of BAe ATP aircraft.
Emerald is principally a cargo operator and it withdrew the passenger service to the Isle of Man in 1999 to concentrate on the freight side of the business.
Chief executive Mick O'Brien said: "Many will remember the big impact we had when first having commenced scheduled passenger services between the Isle of Man and Liverpool in April 1996.
"Passenger numbers increased significantly and low fares became a standard on this lifeline route.
"Our association with the Isle of Man dates back to 1988 when we introduced our first freighter service operated by an Islander aircraft. This has subsequently grown to 15 flights a week."
Based in Speke, Emerald employs 250 staff and has annual sales in excess of £25m.
