KITTENS 'TAKING A BREAK' Atomic Kitten are "taking a break", the band's publicists have confirmed. Despite reports of a series of catfights between the trio, the girls' management team have been at pains to emphasise that the split is temporary. The decision was made after Natasha Hamilton, 21, decided she needed to to take time out to spend with her 16-month-old son. She said: "I knew the time would come when I needed to take time out and luckily the band's in great shape following a brilliant autumn and I have wonderful mates in Jen and Liz, at my management company and at Innocent Records who support me completely." The Daily Star reports Jenny Frost, 25, and Liz McLarnon, 22, had said Natasha's regular absences from gigs and appearances because of poor health and caring for Josh made carrying on impossible. The pair had apparently become increasingly annoyed that Natasha was leaving them to do all the work. It quotes an insider as saying: "All three of the girls get paid the same money and it just wasn't fair that Natasha did so much less work. "It led to tensions between all three of them, and then outright rows." Jenny and Liz are considering pursuing solo careers during the break which brings the band's five year run in the charts to an end.
