THREE major government departments could be moving to Liverpool from London if the Lib-Dems win power.
The shadow Chancellor, Dr Vincent Cable, has proposed that the Treasury, the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise departments relocate to Merseyside.
Moving 14,000 junior officials to the North West could save around £112m because of the lower office rents and not having to pay London weighting.
