MERSEYSIDE is in line to receive a windfall of up to £200m from hosting the world's most prestigious golf tournament twice in three years.
The double success was confirmed with yesterday's announcement that the Open Championship will be staged at the Royal Birkdale course, near Southport, in Capital of Culture year 2008.
