LIVERPOOL University is growing in popularity faster than Oxford and Cambridge.
The number of students applying to study there has risen by 12pc since last year.
This is a bigger increase than all other members of the elite Russell Group of UK universities, except Edinburgh and King's College London.
Applications increased by more than 3,100 to 28,232 for courses beginning in September, 2004.
We can all drink to that!
