SHOPS and bars across Liverpool are starting to cash in on the city's growth as a cosmopolitan destination by accepting the euro.
As European visitor numbers continue to grow thanks to the city's Capital of Culture title and low-cost flights into Liverpool John Lennon Airport, local businesses and retailers are slowly realising the importance of embracing the currency.
Ed Oliver, chairman of Liverpool Stores and Leisure Committee, said many of the larger retailers in the city were already gearing themselves up to be euro-friendly.
