Superlambanana and 'child'. Article from the Echo - ONE of Liverpool's famous landmarks had a surprise addition this morning for April Fool's day. A baby Superlambanana went on display next to the much-loved original. The miniature, measuring three feet high and 3ft 3ins long, was left there by its creator, who identified himself only as Billy, from Crosby. "I thought that the original looked lonely and needed a friend so I made a baby one. "If I've made just one person laugh today then I'm happy. "April Fool's day is hardly celebrated any more so I thought I'd support the British tradition." But there was another message behind the small statue - it is also a protest against university tuition fees. He added: "My daughter's just finished her degree at Durham University and is going to Bath to do her Masters, it's not right that after all that she's going to be up to her ears in debt."

I only took the picture tonight after reading about it in the Echo, Kev. Didn't think it would still be there but went on the off chance anyway. The rest is history.

Just read tonight's Echo and saw the picture of the baby Lambanana smashed to pieces. No pleasing some people, Kev. They have an attitude of 'hey thay looks nice, let's destroy it!'

You would think though, in an area such as that, where are the CCTV cameras?
It was fun while it lasted....
Anyway, it might inspire a more 'permanent' bambino to always be by its side and keep the lamb company.....
