Ten years ago today 12,000 emotional Kopites packed the world famous terrace for one final time on a never-to-be-forgotten Anfield afternoon. A goal from Jeremy Goss may been enough to secure a shock 1-0 win for Norwich City on the day but it failed to dampen the carnival atmosphere as Liverpudlians bade the Spion Kop a fond farewell. The flags and banners were out in force to mark the occasion and the Kop was awash with colour from start to finish. A glittering parade of ex-players kicked off proceedings and those fans lucky enough to be on the Kop that day were in fine voice throughout. The famous old terrace was a sight to behold and on a highly emotional afternoon there was more than a tear or two shed from hardened Kopites.

Arrr, it reminds me of my days when I had my season ticket! It was hard work in the middle of the Kop, some sweaty group of fat fellas would always come into the middle late, stinkin of ale...you would be singin, then some woolyback would try and start up a song, the stick they got, all with fun and a good scouse sense of humour of course!!

I remember going up to Anfield just before they closed the Kop, it was a wednesday night reserve match after the proper final match, and there was loads of kids with chisels and screwdrivers nicking bits of the concrete! Nice one lar!!
