BUSINESS interest in moving into Liverpool has surged by almost a third since the city was awarded its European Capital of Culture status 12 months ago today.
Enquiries from companies aiming to move into the city are up by 30%, with interest being attracted from all corners of Britain, Europe and the world.
Bank of America's debit card operation is among big US names who have approached the region's investment agencies within the last year.
Recent arrivals include Koito, a Japanese firm that makes airline seats, and Land Rover, which is transferring production of its Freelander model from the group's plant at Solihull to join Jaguar at Halewood.
The move is expected to create 1,000 jobs directly plus another 500 as a result of suppliers moving to the region to be near Land Rover.
Around 400 jobs are expected to be created by Arvato Services when it builds a print plant at the Estuary Commerce Park at Speke.
