LIVERPOOL'S Capital of Culture status has sent house prices soaring - while the cities that missed out on the title trail behind.
Since Liverpool was named 2008 Capital of Culture the average cost of a home has gone up by a fifth.
In just nine months the average house price has risen from £103,224 to £125,077 - a rise of 21.2%.

Defeated Capital of Culture hopefuls Birmingham saw house prices rise by 11.8%, Oxford by 7.6%, Cardiff 12.2% and Bristol by just 1.9%.
