A £5M boutique hotel and luxury nightclub is opening up in the heart of Liverpool.
Chris King, whose father owns legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott's, and his business partner Leon Lenik are converting the seven storey Montreal building in Stanley Street.
They hope to turn it into Liverpool's most stylish leisure venue.
Montreal will offer luxury accommodation with four loft suites and two spectacular Penthouse lofts, a ground-floor lounge with mezzanine floor, a separate bar and restaurant, a private members club and a nightclub.
Entrepreneurs Mr Lenik and Mr King, have been involved in the leisure industry for many years.
Their projects include Shepperton Film Studios and The Velvet Underground night club, both in London, the Area night club in Watford, the Burjal-Arab, the world's only seven star hotel in Dubai, and Ronnie Scott's in London.
It is hoped their strong connections with celebrities such as Prince and many of the major record labels in the UK will see famous celebrities visiting the new hotel and club.
Mr Lenik said: "It is a very exciting time for Liverpool right now with its Capital of Culture status and you can feel the vibrancy all around. We are delighted to be part of this new Liverpool.
"Over the last 15 years I have worked in and owned many venues across the UK but nothing comes close to the vibrancy and energy of Liverpool.
"I have spent the last two years looking for the right location for this project. Montreal is the right building, in the right city, at the right time."
The Montreal Building is close to fashion emporium Wade Smith and is situated at the heart of Liverpool's nightlife. It had been derelict for many years before the partners snapped it up.
Mr King added: "Dating back to the Victorian days, there were so many wonderful buildings which thankfully survived with original features intact. The city of Liverpool has a magic all of its own and part of its appeal is the magnificent architecture, such as the Montreal Building, which we have lovingly restored.
"The focus has been on bringing the natural beauty of the building to life, retaining as many traditional features as possible while remembering the key themes of comfort and style.
"We aim to be exclusive but without attitude. Montreal is about comfort and style, we want to appeal to the business sector as the perfect place to work, relax and play."
Throughout the renovation process Mr Lenik and Mr King have commissioned local businesses, including Liverpool-based architects and designers, Union North.
