THE shipbuilding industry on the Mersey is booming again, with millions of pounds worth of work currently under way. Northwestern Shiprepairers and Shipbuilders Limited (NSL) has won a series of high-profile contracts, including projects for the Ministry of Defence and BAE Systems. The firm, based at Bidston Dry Dock, in Birkenhead, has built an international reputation through recent work in France and Spain and estimates it has around £8.5m worth of contracts on its books. more info here...
