The reproduction of an Edwardian guide to Liverpool describes an exciting city that resonates with the city's new image, says Peter Elson.
THE words of the guide book have both an optimistic and futuristic ring. "On every side, there are signs of improvement. If you make your bow to Liverpool at the Landing Stage and proceed to the busy Pier Head, you immediately see a great work in progress for the betterment of this part of the city."
It sounds very current.
