. Hard hitting drama Boys from the Blackstuff, by Alan Bleasdale, was first shown in 1982. It follows five working class men from Liverpool facing long term unemployment.
. Prime time soap opera Brookside had executive producer Phil Redmond at the helm. It ran for 21 years before being axed in November 2003.
