£1bn hospital building programme has been announced.

The proposals, which will bring up to 3,000 extra health care jobs to the region, include rebuilding both Alder Hey Children's Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

Liverpool will also get its first psychiatric intensive care unit, five new mental health care resource centres, and a new elective care centre for planned and routine operations, at Aintree University Hospital in Fazakerley.

I thought Fazakerley had a ward devoted to Mental health ......... maybe if we had an 'ossie devoted to the care of Mental health patients .. maybe we would be making inroads into this much maliegned health issue ..
