LIVERPOOL is gearing up to mark the city's Capital of Culture win in grand style.
On August 20 the city will for the second consecutive year celebrate capturing the title.
The date reads 20/08 - the year Liverpool will reign as Capital of Culture.
And top attractions will mark the event by slashing prices, with some even opening their doors for free.
Today, just two weeks after culture bosses appealed for help in staging the city's big party, 17 events have already been lined up. More are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
This year culture bosses are offering a mystery prize to the business, group, or individual with the most original offer.
Already signed up to take part in this year's celebrations is First Take, who will offer youngsters the chance to make a movie in a day at its Hope Street studios.
Jaguar will offer a one-off evening tour of their Halewood Plant, Liverpool FC will give free admission to the first 100 people who pre-book for the Museum and Stadium Tour, and Cains Brewery will provide 20 free places on its brewery tour.
Council leader Mike Storey, said: "A huge variety of organisations got involved to make last year's celebration very special indeed.
"This year there is room for all sorts of celebration ideas and we hope people will let their imaginations run wild."
