that is ROBYN ARCHER who is given the driver's seat for Liverpool's Culture !
She is a heavy weight on the Aussie Arts Calendar, and she is - from what I have seen - a great Talent !
Recently she was Artistic Director of the Melbourne Arts Festival - for a couple of years or even more. Being asked back by MELBOURNE who are rather "serious" about their ART & CULTURE is something!.
Last year or so she did the same for Tasmania. I have not heard anything negative, but that means nothing.
So: MELBURNITES and TASWEGIANS you might wanna tell our Liverpool friends what you know!
Robyn Archer is a Lesbian. I say this, because, although she does not shove her sexuality as such in your face, my impression is that she is politically engaged in/for the gay community.
She does a pretty awesome impersonation of Edith Piaf, and is an all-round excellent entertainer. She has a great voice and does even SHOCK HORROR *yodel* !!!
From what I have heard about her and from her (in interviews), her main aim is to "entertain". She does not seem "up herself" at all, and she is really an achiever - she works hard, is far from being an attention-floozie and gets results.
Apart from that, she is a "Gemini"...and I like Geminis
On the "cautionary" side: She is far from "traditional" and will probably approve of the more "WHAAAT'S THAAT" kind of artistic projects. So your 'mas' and 'pas' might be a little shocked from time to time, but she can always serenade them with a Yodel or the "La vie en rose" song by Piaf, to charm them.
I think, Robyn Archer is a good choice !!

......and some more, from PA's Chifley: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I reckon Robyn Archer has stacks of talent. Its just that she insists on pushing her Left-wing bias and her own little pet feel good ideas. Not too much wrong with that ... unless it results in her shutting out viewpoints and performances from those who are less Leftish. I think she was not too successful with the recent Adelaide Arts festival (or whatever it is called). A google search might help. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Edit: Lazy bugger did not put a "full stop" at the end of his sentence, so I had to. Apologies........
