Enjoy...
You are probably aware the Capital of Culture are launching their new branding next week. I (Alex Corina) have created two new pictures in my Capital of Culture series. The images are below
The 'Three Graces'
The 'Three Graces' celebrates Liverpool's Renaissance particularly its success at becoming European Capital of Culture 2008 and the fact that Liverpool received its city status in 1207 celebrating its 800 anniversary in . The Pier Head buildings in the picture (also known as the Three Graces) were awarded World Heretage Status by UNESCOs World Heretage Committee 2004.

Liverpool European Capital of Culture Series of Prints
God gave us Wayne after Michelangelo's Perfect Man By Alex Corina
A limited edition of (150)
Timing
The print combines an original drawing of Wayne with Michelangelo's Perfect man from the Sistine chapel and has been produced to coincide with Wayne signing another contract with Everton.
A Celebration of Wayne Rooney
The print is a celebration of the fact that Wayne will continue to play his football at Everton this season (well some of it).
Alex Corina is best known for his picture 'The Mona Lennon' which symbolised Liverpool's Capital of Culture bid that became a tourist attraction when it was produced 80ft by 50ft and hung on the end of Liverpool's St Georges Hall. After a second 'The Liverpool Kiss' after Rodin, he has now produced a third in the series called 'God gave us Wayne' after Michelangelo's Perfect Man.
God Gave Us Wayne brings together Popular Culture with the Classical, a Celebration of Wayne Rooney's talent and achievement with Michelangelo's Perfect Man in the shape of Adam being touched by the hand of God.
Alex Corina say's " This series aims to capture the spirit of Liverpool in the run up to the Capital of Culture in 2008. It's humour, success and its aspirations. The prints are intended to combine the popular with the classical, and the topical while acknowledging the achievements of the past "
Alex Cont'd " With all the speculation during the summer about Wayne's future and the poor publicity I felt we should celebrate the fact that he is incredibly talented and achieved so much in Euro 2004. He comes with a Made in Liverpool label and plays for Everton, he is a cultural Icon, and we should be proud."
Note: Alex Corina has a studio in Garston South Liverpool where he is leading a campaign to establish a cultural village where the Arts and Creative industries are at the heart of it's Regeneration and Capital of Culture. Wayne has family connections with Garston and it is hoped he will sign the edition (for charity) to help raise money for the next stage of the campaign.
