MORE than 50 historic Liverpool properties will open their doors free of charge this month.
They are taking part in the Heritage Open Days, which attracts thousands every year.
Between September 10-13, 59 buildings which are either normally closed to the public or carry an entrance fee will be open.
Patrick Burke, outreach officer for English Heritage in the North West of England, said: "Heritage Open Days is our chance to celebrate the region's diverse cultures and histories, our people and their places.
"English Heritage has been working in new areas with different communities across the region to encourage them to take part in Heritage Open Days.
"It is the hard work and enthusiasm of these volunteers that makes Heritage Open Days happen."
Highlights for Merseyside include St George's Hall, the listed 1874 Princes Road Synagogue and George's Dock Building on the Pier Head.
