Echo and the Bunnymen-Ian McCulloch, Will Sergeant, Les Pattinson and Pete De Freitas-are all scouse. And the finest of Liverpool bands in my humble opinion!!

The Icicle WorksThey were always underrrated, but a great band none the less! Their frontman, Ian McNabb, is still around doing solo stuff. The drummer, Chris Sharrock, was a member of The Las and is now Robbie Williams' drummer! Don't know what happened to Chris Layhe, the bass player!!

The Boo RadleysThey were really cool and made some good albums. Then came Britpop and they produced the bloody awful 'Wake up boo' (the low point of the album, in my opinion!!) No longer together unfortunately!

"Relax, don't do it........................" Really controversial at the time, but they seem quite harmless by today's standards don't they?!

The Teardrop ExplodesOriginally from Tamworth, Staffordshire, Julian Cope came to study at Liverpool University in the 70s. He hung out at Eric's, the legendary punk club where he befriended Ian McCulloch (Echo and the Bunnymen) and Pete Wylie (The Mighty Wah!). He founded the Teardrop Explodes. Julian is an honorary scouser, the other three band members were genuine!!

Where’s that? It’s “One of those villages where everyone knows everyone, but no one really knows anyone”. It’s a non-descript seaside town on England’s west coast – the anti-Blackpool, if you will – where the less than extravagant yearly highlight is Lifeboat Day. Just the latest in a long, long line!!

Cheers for that Steve, hope they do!! Just found this on the NME website:
"The La's are rumoured to be reforming this year, with the possibility of a new album and live shows.
Over the last week, rumours in the band’s hometown of Liverpool are that founder members Lee Mavers and John Power had been seen out together and are collaborating again.
One fan, emailing NME.COM wrote: "Met them at the The Zutons gig at Liverpool Uni the other day, sound fellas. Lee said they’re best mates again, drinking and going out together. Interestingly, Lee said they were working together on new material and to look forward to gigs within the next few months and material within the next year or so!"
A source close to the band has since confirmed that the pair are working together again, but said there are currently no definite plans. It is not clear whether the other members of the band are involved.
The La's released their debut album in 1990 and it was instantly declared a classic, spawning the single ‘There She Goes’. The fact that it was never followed up has only added to its legend. After the band split, bassist John Power went on to enjoy success in his own right with Cast, while Mavers has remained a virtual recluse."
